Landscape and map of one of the lands that grow our rice. Notice the color variations within the rice field, from green to gold, due to different rice varieties maturing at slightly different times.
Since our farmers don't rely on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, crop rotations and compost are crucial for keeping the soil healthy.
Fried fish...These little guys used to swim in the rice fields and the "fish highway" that runs throughout the farm to irrigate and drain the fields. They eat pests and fertilize the rice with their 💩.
Our rice is watered with seasonal rain and this pond. We don't use water that could be contaminated with chemicals and heavy metals from urban areas or conventional farms.
